The principals of MJM Associates focus over 120 years combined experience in healthcare and human services to achieve success for the companies and their investor partners. They have facilitated start-ups, reorganized health and housing developments and managed properties ranging from 60 to 350 units. They have operated companies with annual budgets ranging from $3 to $50 million, participated in the design and construction of over two million square feet of housing and healthcare facilities, leased and sold thousands of housing units and managed over 1,500 staff.
MMR Associates (the predecessor company to MJM) began operation in 2003 to take advantage of the workout opportunities that existed in the senior housing industry due to over building and the poor business decisions made by many in the industry in the late 1990’s. They have completed the turn-around of six senior housing properties by strengthening property management and procedures, modifying product mix when necessary and instituting a superior marketing program.
MJM’s current business plan focuses on expanding its state-of-the-art program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders of memory and cognition and capitalizing on its expertise in the areas of post-acute and transitional care for individuals recovering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). The Company employs its established “all neighborhood” building design which offers both product flexibility and optimal program support for its AL (Assisted Living), IAL (Intensive Assisted Living) and SNAL (Special Needs Assisted Living) service models.
The company has entered into an agreement with Weill Cornell Medical College which will facilitate participation of its residents in approved clinical trial programs and allow it to conduct, in collaboration with Cornell, further research on the best ways to apply its Canterwood behavioral intervention programs to improve the lives of all Alzheimer’s patients. The company seeks to utilize the affiliation to further establish the Canterwood program as a national program of excellence through its research efforts and the dissemination of results.
The company continues to seek select development, management and repositioning opportunities in markets of interest on the East coast, in the mid-west and Texas.
