Martin D. Hamburg
Ph.D., President

Dr. Hamburg founded MMR Associates and MMR Properties (the predecessor companies to Sanmar Realty and MJM Associates) which began operation in 2003. The companies have owned and/or managed specialized dementia care facilities and assisted living facilities in Florida, New Jersey, Virginia and Tennessee are in various phases of acquiring or building senior housing communities in Florida, Texas, Connecticut and New York. Prior to starting MMR, for twenty-two years Dr. Hamburg served as CEO of the Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), COO of Beacon Residences and Head of Network Development for the National Institute for People with Disabilities. He participated in the design and construction of over 1.5 million square feet of housing and healthcare facilities, established and operated over 50 ICFs (Medicaid Intermediary Care Facilities) and Medicaid Waiver residential programs for seniors and adults with special needs serving over 350 individuals. He created Opti-Healthcare, a network of 5 diagnostic and treatment centers with over 70,000 patient visits per year and grew DDI from an annual operating budget of $3 million to over $50 million. Dr. Hamburg is a neurophysiologist and member of the faculty of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He is a specialist in the care and treatment of people with behavioral and cognitive disabilities, including Alzheimer’s disease, and has authored over 25 scientific publications in the areas of the neurochemical basis of memory and the electrophysiology of the hypothalamus. He is a graduate of New York University and received his Ph.D. from the Brain Research Laboratory of the University of Michigan.

Jacqueline Hurt  Senior Vice President – Operations

Ms. Hurt has over 21 years’ experience as a licensed nursing home administrator, executive director of assisted living communities and regional vice-president of assisted living communities. From 2002 to 2014 she advanced from Executive Director and Nursing Home Administrator for the Senior Care Group to Regional Vice President overseeing more than 1300 staff located in 11 facilities in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. She was responsible for policy and program development, budget planning and administration, staff development and evaluation as well as regulatory compliance and program innovation. Ms. Hurt has a BA in Behavioral Science and a MA in Managerial Leadership, both from National Louis University in Tampa, Florida,

Mark J. Nunheimer, Senior Vice President, Finance and Accounting 

Mr. Nunheimer joined MMR in 2003. He brings with him twenty years’ experience in budget development, financial analysis and financial monitoring of construction and development of senior housing, multi-family and other forms of commercial real estate throughout the country and the US Virgin Islands. He negotiated $38 million in bond financing for senior housing projects in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and managed $28 million in construction and development. He has significant experience in the financing and development of low income housing tax credit properties and has worked on projects in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and the US Virgin Islands. He established regional offices as part of a national reorganization of a real estate company managing over $2 billion in commercial, residential and resort properties.  Mr. Nunheimer holds a B.S. degree from Bryant College, Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Joel W. Hass Senior Vice President
Medical Liaison  and Marketing

Mr. Hass joined the company in 2013 after serving as Vice President for Regional Development of the Florida Division of the Adventist Healthcare Systems. He coordinated the planning for four Foundations in the State of Florida after serving as the President of the Florida Hospital Foundation in Orlando, Florida.  Under Mr. Hass’ leadership the assets of the Foundation increased from $15M to $45M. He has also held positions with the Adventist Healthcare System in different leadership capacities in Texas and Illinois. For the last 10 years, Mr. Hass has served as CEO of the Mid-Florida Region of the American Red Cross. Mr. Hass received a Bachelors degree from the University of Illinois, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Health Services Administration from the University of Minnesota. 

Haskell J. Seymour, CPA (retired) Financial and Investment Advisor

Mr. Seymour has practiced public accounting since 1963. In 1967 Mr. Seymour founded the firm Blonder Seymour Shapss Solomon & Company which merged with Martin Rosen & Company in 1994 to become Rosen Seymour Shapss Martin & Company LLP (the “Firm”). He was a member of the Executive Committee and was the Firm’s senior audit partner. He was the Firm’s SEC consulting partner and was a specialist on SEC related matters. He had extensive experience in serving privately and publicly owned companies and possessed specialized SEC experience in accounting for initial and secondary offerings and 10K filings. Mr. Seymour served as the Firm’s Quality Control Partner and had ultimate responsibility for the Firm’s practice as a member of the AICPA Center for Audit Quality. He also was the partner in charge of the Firm’s information technology systems and support group and oversaw the internal Management Information Systems department.  Mr. Seymour received his B.A.in economics/accounting from Harpur College of the State University of New York. He is a CPA (retired) licensed in New York and Florida and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPA’s and the Florida Institute of CPA’s.
